. I saw red when I read the article. How stupid is that!?!?! This little girl was extremely brave and kindhearted, something that, apparently, can't be said about many adults, to do such an act. All she wanted to do is help out her friend, Delaney Clements, who is going through chemotherapy, which is scary for anyone, let alone for an 11 year old, plus worrying about other kids making fun of her. Kamryn was told not to come back till her hair grew back (apparently the school let her come back, but that is not the point), because shaved heads went against the school dress code. A quote from the article says: "The school said in a statement that its dress code policy was 'created to promote safety, uniformity and a non-distracting environment for the school’s students.'" Another problem I had with this article was with that quote. "Uniformity"... Really?? I thought we were supposed to teach kids, to be unique, their own person.......... GAH!
Seriously I don't want to live on this planet anymore. Especially if we are teaching kids today to NOT do what is right, brave, and kind. Plus teaching that "standing out" is a bad thing.
To any child ( or adult) reading this post: DO WHAT IS RIGHT. BE KIND. BE BRAVE. BE YOURSELF!!!
