When it comes to gaming consoles, I am not really loyal to one certain company, but if I had to pinned down my all time favorite, it would have to be Sega Genesis. In all honestly if I hadn't lost it in storage, I would still have to this day. I do plan on getting it back again, sometime soon. I can't believe I am saying this, but kids of today don't know the annoyance of pulling out a non-working game cartridge, before blowing in to said cartridge, then into the actually console for the game to start working again. I am not the most compative person in the world, but I have had so much fun , playfully smack talking with my friends and sister when we played a 2-player game. I also would like to say I adored the music of the games, especially the ones based on movies/TV Shows. Ahh the memories...
Here are some of my favorite Sega games, in no particular order.
The Videos I am posting are full playthrough of the game.. which I have to admit are quite fun to watch
2. The Lion King- I am a huge Disney fan, and Lion King is one of my all time favorite movies. So of course I had The Lion King on Sega. When I was telling my mom about this little project I am doing and the first post I was writing about, she quickly said that this was her favorite game, which surprised me, I always thought she played it just to humor me. Oh and that damn Stampede level was pure evil ( and not just because of emotional aspect.. it was HARD
3. Olympic Gold- Barcelona '92 Don't know why I love this one so much, but I did. I always sucked at the games but it was still fun, and this is the close I will EVER be to competing in the Olympics. The diving event was my favorite for some reason. Lol. :)
5. Aladdin- Yup going with another game based of a Disney movie, I did say I was fan. Aladdin is another one of my all time favorite Disney movie, and this game was quite fun as well. I can't remember which level was the hardest for me, but I am betting it was the Escape level.
I have many other Sega Games that I love, but these five bring back the most memories.
So thus ends my first installment of Nostalgic Nuggets. What did you think? Did you play Sega Genesis growing up (Or as an adult)? Do you agree with the games I love? What are/were some of your favorites? Let me know. :)
